In May 2023, Amsterdam became the first city in the world to install 3D-printed manholes, at the Jacob Catskade, for rainwater drainage. The project won the RIONED Innovation Award in 2024.
Development
In autumn 2022 we started producing and developing the manholes together with Waternet and the City of Amsterdam. We worked on the case with Dura Vermeer for over a year.
Delivered in ± 1 week
Thanks to the digital workflow, delivery and installation of manholes proved possible in ± 1 week. Every manhole is custom-made, with connections exactly where they are needed.
Recognition
At RIONEDdag in Utrecht, the project won the RIONED Innovation Award 2024 with almost sixty percent of the votes.
