Street furniture
On the Spaarndamseweg in Haarlem, an existing concrete barrier has been turned into a resting spot for cyclists and passers-by. No demolition, with a bench that connects seamlessly to what was already there.
From scan to design
We first scanned and surveyed the existing barrier digitally. Based on that data we developed a seating element that connects organically to the existing structure. The bench consists of multiple robot-made elements that together form one whole. Fully digitally designed and produced, without formwork.
Sustainable and future-proof
- The existing barrier stays and gets a second life
- Custom-made and produced on demand, no overproduction
- Material only where it is structurally needed
- Robust and low-maintenance
