The Archie Bench is a bench we custom-made for Heembouw. The shape was designed fully digitally and built up layer by layer by our robot in our robot lab.
A curved shape in one piece
The bench rests on two legs with an arch in between. The end faces show how the robot printed the walls in one continuous, wave-shaped line. That makes the bench strong, with material only where it is needed.
Custom work for the client
Because no mould is needed, we can adapt shape, size and details for every commission. For Heembouw we worked the company name into the surface of the bench.
Recognisable print texture
The visible layers give the bench its own texture: the signature of robotic printing.
